$4,900 separates them, before destination on both: $29,000 versus $33,900, or $31,000 versus $35,900 in all-wheel drive. The LT already carries heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, the 11.3-inch touchscreen and available HD Surround Vision. The RS keeps all of that and adds black mirrors, moldings, emblems and badging, a flat-bottom steering wheel, standard 19-inch wheels with 20-inch machined wheels available, and an available two-tone black roof. It's a styling and detail step, not a different engine.

Does the ACTIV trim make sense for a driver who mostly stays on pavement?

It can. The ACTIV starts at the same $33,900 before destination as the RS and adds all-terrain tires, a uniquely tuned suspension, Evotex and sueded microfiber seating surfaces, standard roof-mounted side rails and cross rails, and an available two-tone white roof.
