The payoff is efficiency and price: the Trax returns an EPA-estimated 28 city / 32 highway / 30 combined MPG on regular gas. All-wheel drive is not available on any Trax. Arkansas winters are mild and the roads around the lakes stay clear most of the year, so front-wheel drive handles local conditions without trouble, but if you want all-wheel drive for frequent bad weather, the slightly larger Chevrolet Trailblazer is the in-brand alternative that offers it.
